To laugh or cry

To laugh or cry - has been the theme of 2017.

The political scenes in US & TN are competing each other with unimaginable twists everyday. After the initial blood boiling feeling, the memes and talk shows bring the much needed covfefe relief only to relive the whole experience all over again the next day! 😢😊

After more than a decade of being one among the many bloggers, metoo is Time person of the year! 😢😊

Annathey testing the political waters and that too through Twitter?? His narambu pudaikkum tweets shows his genuine concerns but probably his 'manidhar unarthukolla idhu manidhar tweets alla... alla... alla... adhaiyum thaandi punidhamana tweets needs ko pa se(s) like metoo to decode!😜

Second millennium is inching closer to be a major(oh..., I missed posting the millennium singing "I'm 16 going on 17" last year)! Enjoy the silly teen(y) years! 

Out of hibernation

I have been wondering how blogging went down my priority list. It is not like I don't have anything to 'polambi'fy about or reminiscence or share! Then, why? I guess, I have to blame it all on Steve Jobs! If not for his smart(y pants)phone introduction, I would've lived happily ever after with my lap/desktops! Now since everything can be done at the fingertips, nothing gets done! I turn on the phone remembering something important to do and then go awry clicking all the notifications and alerts and waste precious time and forget all about that important task(especially the replying to teacher's emails!)!

Don't know why I am still scared of the quicksand social networking sites when all around everywhere everyone is happily splashing in them! This same comment hungry blogger who blogged week after week, month after month to get reactions & comments from unknown blogger friends is wary to post anything on fb, twitter knowing comments could pour. When orkut shut down, I thought fb, twitter and the like would follow suit but inspite of the cropping up of new, new social networking sites like instagram, tumblr, davara etc., the front runners are showing no signs of slowing down!

Talking of front runners, interesting election circus going on now and this time around, with a super funny analysis from the "Daily show with Trevor Noah" team. I was not fortunate enough to know about the daily show when Jon Stewart was around and I love Trevor's show with his outsider point of view. The whole TDS team is so hilarious especially nammooru paiyan, Hasan Minhaj! Please don't take too many breaks guys!

Restriction

IIT (Mumbai) to limit Internet access! - Ada paavame!!
Ever since we switched from dial-up to high-speed internet, computer has been my all in all(friend, newspaper, TV, telephone...). The only thing I am still not comfortable is reading novels online.

My inbox showed new mails in double digits one day last week! I hurriedly opened to see who the mails were from and boy, was it a surprise! All Spam comments!!! Only consolation was that atleast none were the usual 'gumbaloda govinda' forwarded messages!! Now I wonder whether to remove anonymous commenting option or to add word verification(any suggestions?). Yerkanave comments-kku lottery! Idhule, idhu veraya? mocked my mind. During my early blogging days, one of my friend commented(offline!) how blogging is all about getting comments. I retorted then like a cinema Actor about how I would go on blogging(Kalai chevai!) even if no one comments on my posts! But like how they say "aadina kaalum, paadina vaayum..." now add comments vaangina blog-um!

My bulk mails are overflowing with mails wanting to make me rich lately. "Final notice for you collect your lottery money" screams some and many from the African continent are waiting to transfer their brimming bank balance to mine!! Ada pongada!!

Saaba Vimochanam?!

For the past few days, this blog had been inaccessible. Every morning I hoped that my 'sleeping on it' would magically rectify whatever problem my blog was experiencing. Yesterday I found that only my main page wasn't loading and I could access my blog entries separately. Still not onto a solution to the problem, I posted my reply comments and 'lo & behold' came my main page!!! Was that the spell breaker to the curse??!!

'Aadha-Yennangal' is a few weeks shy of its first birthday! The blowing of trumpet about this giant leap is advanced as me too will be vacationing in SenTamizhnaadu at that time!

Last year this time, I was just a peeper and I am so glad that I took that bold little baby step! The number of (blogger) friends I've made this past year is amazing! People otherwise I wouldn't have met, let alone chat, pulled legs, shared, supported!! Follow up to my inspired to read post, I have made head start there too(I have so far read 'Namesake', 'Kite Runner' and 'Da Vinci Code'!). Thanks a ton to all of you! In the past, the back to grind after India trips used to be so hard. Guess, I can look forward to some interesting catching up here in the blog world this time! ;) See ya!!

The packrats are moving(MA to GA)!! Will get back to regular blogging after we get settled in the new place.

I am back from Vacation. The title actually means still trying to get back to routine! I have so many posts ready in my head but have some minor challenges ahead of me in the next couple of days. Will try to resume from Friday.

'Mangal bappa mourya'!

Mind-Blogg(l)ing!

Lately, my mind is occupied by blog-o-blogs! While cooking, while putting my daughter to sleep or while travelling, all I can think of are the different posts & comments or ideas for my next post etc. I am just short of thinking aloud (like Deepti Naval practising her singing everywhere in 'Chashme Badoor'!). And atlast when I find time to sit infront of the system, I am eager to read new posts in my regular blogger-pal sites, go blog hopping and by the time I am back, I hardly remember all those ideas/thoughts that I've been having all day!!!

My blog!! It's been a few months since I peeped into the 'blog world' and ever since been taking 'baby steps' (like in the movie 'What about Bob?') to reach this first major step! I wish to post my views, comments, hopes, peeves etc. (my toddler daughter allowing!) thereby relieving my husband and his ears!
