Trio

I remember vividly in my KG days how all visitors to our house would ask(or prompted to ask!), "who are your friends at school?" and every time I would proudly answer, "Shanta Kumari and Mary Vasanthi!"(I hardly remember anything about SK now but I vaguely remember visiting MV's house which was at walking distance from my home). Thinking in those lines, I realised that I've had 2 close friends at all stages of my life making us the mumurthi'gal' gangs. The other day I was watching 'Clifford the big red dog' (along with my daughter, ofcourse) and I realised how Clifford too has 2 doggie pals, T Bone and Cleo. 'Dil chahta hai' was about 3 friends, 'Friends' serial had 3 male and 3 female friends.

On further analysis I found that every trio has a level-head(Clifford, Sid, Chandler, Monica, my friends R/J/R), a show-off(Cleo, Akash, Ross, Rachel, my friends S/P/V/G) and a silly-simple joker(T-Bone, Sameer, Joey, Phoebe, my friends S/P). There always will be clashes between the level head and the show off with the joker[me (too) in most cases!] caught in between unsure as to who to support! The idea to this post came about when, continuing in the tradition, my daughter recently declared that Kayla and Kyrene are her best friends in school!! Now I will continue the tradition of prompting everyone who visits us to ask her about her friends!

I guess I too mostly restrict my gang to 3 since it's very optimum: three ppl can do sufficient amount of politics, enjoyment, vettipechu, parties, cribbing among themselves. A bigger crowd will become unmanageable :)

ttm, 3 is indeed optimum! BTW, have you already checked this out?

b(k), good question! If she is like mom, she should be the joker category though a show-off is a high possibility too!

kc, danks! With such encouragement I can go on with more such researches! :)

i, (a)iya, manichukongaiya!

syam, it depends on the guest and on the mood of my daughter! Unga paiyan pesa thodangattum apparam paarunga neenga eppadi maarureengannu!! :)

Never thought about this in this angle.:D
Though I have a big gang of friends here,I too have only 2 friends close to heart, with whom I don't have any mail or phone connection, but still they are very close to me.Weird!isn't it?

me too, parthen. but picture quality not good no?
agree with advice given to syam. I was in a serious discussion with my friend when his usually silent kid started yelling 'Goodbye uncle!'

ttm, my younger one did that too, told our friend at a party at someone else's house, "it's time for you to go home". She was barely 3 at that time.

I try not to do the proud mommy act and "show off" but it is not an easy task.

3 is a common number for many things. in tamil movies(what else am i gonna bring in?!), when the hero's family is killed by the villains, they will usually be 3. like aboorva sagodharargal & oru kaidhiyin diary... to name a couple of films with ur fav hero :)

skm, "Never thought about this in this angle.:D" - adhukku dhaan naan irukkene!! :)

ttm, I don't mind the picture qualities much. oc-nna I don't complain!

munimma, "it is not an easy task" - I know! Sometimes casual acts have been interpreted as show offs!

me, ada, maatti vidareengale! I will try to escape from the situation if I can. Otherwise point to the 'show off' cos of the possibility of making up with the 'level head' later!
I am not the been-cooking/helping in the kitchen-since 5 yrs old-kind! And after visiting some mommy blogs recently, now feel tempted to start a mommy blog!!
Seri, we had been to the international farmers market in the weekend and even while selecting vegetables my menu started shaping up:
Aviyal or bisibela bath
Cabbage kootu and bell pepper curry
Brinjal sambar and beans curry
potato masaal or paav baaji
But all my plans flopped with my husband down with stomach bug and I ended up making molagu rasam, tomato sambar etc. this week! :(

bb, I am glad you didn't bring in about 3 mugam! :)

eppo lendho my wife has been suggesting for going with glass lunch boxes rather than plastic ones...last weekend we got the pyrex ones...but the problem is... the container is not air tight...

do u have suggestions on other products?

me, you mean, they are not spill-proof? I can't seem to think of anything other than our ooru tiffin box(which sometimes won't even open!)

You only recipe collector-a? Did you atleast try the 7 cup sweet?
