I love the first 3 songs very much.. esp. the third song very recently.. 7G's song initially sounded so IR-ish and bit boring to listen, in an album full of pacy tunes. But, the lyrics have got me tied to the 'Ninaithu' song of late.

One other notable exception is "Ninaithadhu yaro needhaney" from our Gaptain's POT (Pattuku oru thalaivan).

Wish you and your family a very happy and joyous new year!!!

thanks to sk for reminding us of 'Ninaivaale silai seidhu' - Andhaman Kadhali. A superb film worth watching for dialogues alone(sivaji + sujatha is the added bonus).

Happy new year to you all too!

ttm, Andaman kadhali - a superb film, eh? Never been tempted to watch any of the 70s oversized-Sivaji movies!

syam, same to you!

andaman kadhali, first thing I remember - Yesudas sings 'theru koyile odiva..' instead of thiru koyile odi va'.

me too/I,
In 2001, Pothigai used to feature all songs from old movies at 9PM and AK was featured once, which is when I heard it first(besides early 80s of course). Some months later, saw the movie on KTV.
Andhaman kadhali had some nice dialogues in the 2nd half, which are good to watch under Sivaji's delivery. Prakasam wrote the dialogues(he also wrote for other Sivaji movies like Imayam).

Yes, I too heard the much-repeated 'therukoile' attacks on Yesudas and awaited the song with much interest. I was disappointed that it sounded right to me. Atleast one more listener agrees with me here. Check for yourself here :)

sriram/ttm, thiru-vo theru-vo, I hope Sivaji isn't shown running on screen when the lines 'oodi vaa' comes! :)
